barongs

These Barongs are photogenic.

And so are we.

hat trick

In a remote place today, I was behind this Bianca White Peugeot 208 just before the roundabout. You see, I drive a Bianca White Peugeot 208 and the moment I switched on the radio, the advert on Peugeot 208 came on.

Is this telling me something?

headliners

For free, we're able to gather the top performers to entertain the Norfolk peeps. Uniting Pinoys abroad is hard work but it's probably worth it in the end.

BGT

So...

Xaxa won her heat alongside the two classical blokes from Wales (they sang a fine rendition of Somewhere from WestSide Story) and now through to the FINALS. The whole experience was exhilarating, tension-filled and spine-tingling.

Below are the highlights:

  • Xaxa is finally in the finals
  • Simon was few metres away (and the rest of the judges)
  • Simon was chewing a gum
  • and Amanda Holden gave it to one of the girls in the audience
  • Ellie Goulding in person and her BF(?) - Jeremy Irvine (War Horse)
  • Kym Marsh, BLUE band and other celebs loitering
  • The calculated, controlled chaos of a live show is mind-boggling

a bank holiday treat

We are off to Wembley Studios later to watch the 11-year-old singing sensation Arisxandra Libantino for her semifinal performance at BGT. We're given free tickets as her guests and will be rooting for her as she wows the world.

This is exciting!

and another hosting job ...

I have done quite a few hosting jobs in the last few months.

Pending jobs:

- Housewarming (Lito's)
- Barrio Fiesta (Norwich)
- Bikini (Men and Women) Open (London)
- Independence Day TFCKAT UK Grandfinals (London)

I don't know but give me a mic and it becomes an extension of my personality.

combo

The combination of "OLD" and TOMBSTONES give me tingles. A good tingle that is.

That's Biddy's of Norwich.

familiar face

We were visited by a truly seasoned friend so we decided to show them the East Coast, feasted on fish and chips and a trip to Biddy's for tea/coffee/cakes. We had recollection and a poignant trip down memory lane.

It was therapeutic and perfect timing.

Santacruzan 2013 - Norwich

connecting

Tonight's an amazing night. It affords a different exhilarating feeling when the audience are as interactive and responsive to the whole goings on of the event. That's why, Gelo and I found this evening rewarding as we entertained Norwich. It's certainly because of the high spirit and warm reception of the people who tirelessly clapped and screamed all throughout, making the night a special one.

Thank you Norwich.

I thought it's a good idea

Having an incense lit as you do a NUMBER TWO is a good idea on top of the extractor fan that already removes the stench of human excreta. For those who are extremely conscious of their waste products, they can now breathe a sigh of relief when visiting PRINCI'S restaurant of London.

This gadget made me smile and definitely gave me an idea.

creation

I seldom lift my own chair and blow my own trumpet. So allow me to say that our household is beaming with skills and talents. The other day, we were asked to be part of the Flores De Mayo Santacruzan by the GLobal Fil Catholic Community to host and sing at the event. Then the Reyna Elena (Gelo's work colleague) requested that Gelo designs the arch. So he did.

I must say that he's done a mighty fine job with very little preparation and limited resources. To validate my appreciation, the Reyna Elena herself was tickled pink upon seeing his creation. I am a proud husband as always.

beam me up

With Orange 2-4-1 promo, Tina and I ventured to Odeon Cinema to watch Star Trek. There really is a difference when you watch a sci-fi on 3D, IMAX. The film comes to life. It becomes more of an enjoyable experience.

I am turning into a sloth lately that typing becomes a laborious task. So here's what I think of the film: It's a worthwhile kill-time when viable options are wearing thin.

teaser

In few weeks, I will be tasting "home".
These things will just be the teaser.

I have to stop ...

I am not tall and I already look like ... you know, that person who looks odd to gawk at.

sigh

There are a lot of things I need to write about but there are a lot of reasons that stop me from writing it. For now, I can only blah blah blah blah about nonsensical things like ... like ... like ... I dunno really.

Nada

Yes, that's NADA in the history of tennis we could compare RAFA NADAL with, in terms of his achievements on clay. He lifted the Foro Italico Champion Trophy today bashing Federer to smithereens, 6-1 6-3. He is now 20-10 against the courier sounding man and earned six titles already this year.

Let's see how my man fares this French Open season.

my first dab at iMovie app

I think I'm creative as a person.
This one doesn't qualify as a good-enough effort at movie-making.
But it's just a matter of time.
Yes, a matter of time when I find one.

my London

Surprisingly, I don't miss the city that much as I predicted and expected it from the beginning. What I know about the city hasn't changed at all. It is still the beautiful and vibrant place that used to allay my fears and anxieties about living life.

The good thing is, I seldom get heebie-jeebies these days and when I do, it's already time to visit my London for a good de-stressing session on her couch.

essential temptations; temptation essentials

We've been trying to lose weight for the past three months but I have now hit plateau despite the efforts of gym-ming and avoiding temptations of high calorific essentials. Succumbing to one tasty meal that could plague the hips and block the arteries is one guilt trip worth a thousand gym sessions. I intend to have a quiet weekend with paperworks and telly but I guess, trips to Virgin Active would be vital to burn some calories... or the way I look at it, be able to shed pounds to have another opportunity to live normally... and eat normally.

that season

Nadal is showing everybody that he's still the BOSS of the red stuff. Despite his ailments in the past year, he's come back fighting and winning. With the French Open looming, his preparation for this event is fiercer than ever. The usual suspects and the young guns are aiming to usurp Nadal and be the future of the red turf. Let's see how this pans out.

Women's game is hotting up as well. After a time of lull, the competition is back to its feral, intense nature. Williams (Serena) is still teaching the kids out there how to pounce on the ball with consistency and ferocity. Age in tennis is a good determinant of longevity but lately, some top ranked players defy that notion with athletic feats and wins.

I played on clay a few times in the past (Germany and here in UK). A fast-paced, hard-hitting player like me finds playing on this surface quite tedious as the rallies could go on forever. Being impatient means overhitting and making more errors in the process. This is why I look up to Nadal with the way he constructs points and delivers the final blow at the earliest opportunity. Aside from that, his patience to trade blows after blows of stinging forehands and backhands with his opponents is quite remarkable.

LESSON in life as we basically know it:

You fight to the last breath whatever the conditions are.

look

I can look back someday and see that I have finally reclaimed my jaw and chin from the grasp of thick adipose tissues I was harbouring for months.

It's true, gym-ming is addictive. Positive results from hardwork usually explain this phenomenon.

"Hanga ako sa yo Ryan. Pag may events kami, ikaw ang host ha?"

At the end of the night, I was asked to host BIKINI OPEN 2013.

I must be doing something right.

This ... betta be good!

heart-warming

one of the sides

Our reunion is looming.

NAM has many sides to him. Thanks to him for being extra kind to me for posting this in our reunion site. That's his good, least dominant side.

I'm kidding (not).

weekend in few words

It was a hectic weekend.

We did a return journey to London and then we met up with Bo and Gytis and then we attended the Ms. Glamour UK 2013 and then we stayed at Bo's (thank you by the way) and then hosted Erela's CD launching ( and sang during the event, so did Gelo) and in the process widened social networks and then booked more hosting jobs.

It was rigourously time-framed that we failed to meet up with Shivs, Ces, Janette etc. But there's A NEXT TIME.

We got home and found out that Nadal bagged the Madrid Masters. So, weekend's brilliant noh?

I have now seen most of the Oscar's Best Picture list.

I'm not going to review this film but I learned something from watching this.
